The Endless

The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, is widely regarded as the greatest comics series of all time. It gained worldwide popularity in the 1990's when published as a series of graphic novels. The central character of the storyline of Sandman goes most commonly under the name of Dream. Based in his realm, The Dreaming, he controls the dreams and nightmares of all living things which dream.

Dream is one of seven siblings known as The Endless, who are anthropomorphic personifications of various aspects of mortal existence. Each of them appears, in varying amounts, in Sandman. The Endless are, in descending order of age: Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delirium.

Music

So far I've written four pieces inspired by the Endless, their personalities, realms, activities and the like: Destiny, Despair, Desire and Destruction. Piano scores and midi files of these can be freely downloaded.

The intention is to record all seven and end up with a full album. Demo recordings of Destiny and Despair have been completed at the moment.
