also by Tangerine Dream:
A typical album from Tangerine Dream's early 1980s era with Johannes Schmoelling. While this style of light, poppy electronica works better in six short chunks than in side-long epics, the limited palette of this album makes for an uninteresting listen. Its hygienic basslines, sequencer pattering and metallic leads evoke a typical sci-fi set made of stainless steel and white plastic. Six different views of this particular spacecraft look remarkably similar. Token exotic sound effects, and the Russian vocalist in "Kiew Mission", do very little to add any sort of human touch. The two shorter pieces, "Pilots of Purple Twilight" and "Choronzon" are not particularly remarkable examples of the daytime-TV-theme style which they would concentrate on in the future.
